Each challenge is created to take around only 30 minutes, although that's only a guideline, you can take longer if you wish, or less. This means you could write your answer to each week's challenge over morning tea, while waiting to collect the children from school, or on the train back from work. Everybody has a spare half hour if they want to find it, which is why we chose it.
It's also designed simply for the fun of writing, to give you something to write about, and to inspire thought and conversation between writers. Anybody can be involved, adults, children, writing groups, schools, individuals, first timers, published writers, and anyone in between.
So how does it work?
~~Every Tuesday morning we will post a weekly writing challenge here, on this site.
~~You write something that you feel fits the challenge.
~~You 'cut and paste' your answer to the challenge into the form at the bottom of this page, before the following Tuesday.
~~We, at Writing to Inspire, will read through it quickly to check it isn't inappropriate for general readers and will then post it on our site so that it can be read, and possibly commented on.
~~You come back over the week and read the other answers to the challenges, and make comments if you wish.
Once a new challenge is given, we will no longer accept writings in response to the previous week's challenge, although you can continue to make comments on them if you wish.

OTHER BITS RELATING TO OUR WEEKLY WRITING CHALLENGE
The copyright and rights of the work written in response to the challenge stay with the writer of the work.
Please only post work that you have written or have the permission from the writer to post.
We will only publish work written in English.
We at Writing to Inspire take no responsibility for what others may do with your work once it has been posted, but do encourage all writers to respect the work of other people and time taken for its creation.
If we feel any writing written in response to a challenge is inappropriate to general readers we won't post it online, but the content would have to be pretty bad for us to do that. Basically, if what you are writing would be classed as an 'M15+' movie or higher chances are we won't post it.
If we deem any comment on another person's writing is insulting, inappropriate or just not mean, we accept the right to delete it.

The critiquing to me was the whole point of the course. While the general comments and writing tips were vital as a backbone to the course, the personal interaction and direction was the whole point of it all.’ Sue, Australia
