Elizabeth Bezant
Hi.
My name is Elizabeth Bezant and I always find answering the question, 'who am I?' a little daunting. After all, what is it that you really want to know? Do you want to know if I am married with children or do you want to know that I have had books and articles published?
Suffice to say that I have it all. (Yes, finally, someone who admits to having it all.) All have caused me moments of frustration and pride in their creation, but I love, and am grateful for, each of them - in varying degrees.
Although I was born in Surrey, England I now work as a freelance writer, speaker and writing coach in Perth, Western Australia, where my life is often unpredictable, occasionally unconventional, but always fun.
I am a great believer in the theory that if you set your mind to it, you can achieve anything - a belief that I endeavour to weave through my writing, my coaching and also my life.
I used to have a regular radio segment called, ‘The Art of Writing’, then I was flattered to be asked to host a segment called, 'Handy Hints for Aspiring Writers' on the television show ‘BooksWA’.
In my freelance writing I cover a variety of genres. One area is promoting Australia and the Australian lifestyle, under this theme I have been published in the Britain's 'Sunday Telegraph' and regularly in the 'Living Abroad' magazine.
'Lost Outside These Walls ~ a mother's inner journey' was the first fiction book I had published. It comes under the heading of Australian fiction/self help novel.
Following that I released the workbooks, 'I Want To Write, But Don't Know Where To Start' a beginners guide to writing, 'Effective Goal Setting To Writers' which really explains itself and more recently ‘Writing Your Life Story, but not necessarily your autobiography’ designed to offer advice on all the different ways a life can be written about.
My varied, but hopefully thought-provoking, true-life stories can currently be found in the International best-selling series, ‘Chicken Soup for the Mother & Daughter Soul' the American best-seller series, ‘Chocolate for a Woman's Courage', and in the UK magazine, ‘Grace’. They were also included for three years in my column, ‘Enjoying the Journey,’ found in the Australia-wide newspaper, ‘Nova’.
While my inspirational stories on life have been published worldwide, as have my interactive educational ideas, it wasn't until 2002 that my first educational book (‘Picture Crosswords,’ by ReadyEd Publications) was released.
When I started up 'Writing to Inspire' it was in answer to a need I saw around me. So many people want to write, but feel that they can't. Others feel they can, but don't know where to start.
Then there's the other group that are actually putting pen to paper but, due in part to the insular nature of writing, find that life continually gets in the way of their goals and provides little support to keep them on track.
These situations, and ones like them, are the gaps that 'Writing to Inspire' is here to fill. That is the reason for its creation - to inspire, educate and empower writers of all levels to their success - and also why Pam Eaves and I started Life's Inspirational Moments, but that is a totally different story. To find out more about that and how it encourages writers and readers, please visit

Well, I hope that has answered some of your questions, and if you didn't get this far I guess we can safely say it answered too many.
Have fun!
Signed,
Elizabeth Bezant
