While the Writing Information and Tips site offers an excellent insight into aspects of writing and a writer’s life our online courses cover everything in more detail, providing proven practical advice that will give you a headstart, or a refresher course, in your chosen writing genre. Offering a structured, fun and inspiring way of learning, all our online writing courses are written, researched and facilitated by published, quality writers.

Writing to Inspire (our sister site) has been successfully providing online writing courses to the world for many years. It seemed only logical therefore that when Writing Information and Tips decided to create an online writing school that we should combine our knowledge and resources.

Online writing courses offer many advantages over location-based learning. For example, you can attend no matter which part of the world you live in and study at whatever time suits you, to say nothing of the fact that there are no transport issues, no parking problems, no baby sitting requirements and best of all you don’t even have to take your slippers off and put your coat on. All of which leads to easy attendance and cheaper course fees.

We will, as things progress, be offering two styles of online writing courses.

Coached Online Courses: All these writing classes will ask you to ‘hand-in’ regular homework which will be individually assessed by a professional course facilitator. This facilitator will then offer you positive, honest and personalised feedback and coaching designed not only to improve your writing within your chosen genre, but also to inspire and inform.

Structured Online Courses: These courses are structured to require little feedback from facilitators, in these classes it is the information that is imparted and the directions given that are important. Most of the homework that follows these assignments is not the kind that can be marked, it is more than likely to be step-by-step tasks that need to be completed in order to achieve your chosen outcome.

Another vital difference between the two styles of teaching styles is that the Coached Online Courses will run only during set dates while the Structured Online Courses can be started on any date that you choose.
